An “Israeli” soldier was killed in a Hezbollah drone attack on the Western Galilee this Monday morning.

The soldier is identified as Chief Warrant Officer Mahmood Amaria, 45 years old, a tracker in the 300th “Baram” Regional Brigade – per a statement by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF).

Five explosive-laden drones were launched from Lebanon in the attack, with three being intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system – according to the IOF.

Two of the drones struck the Western Galilee.

The drone that struck near Ya’ara killed the one soldier and injured several others, including one with “serious” injuries.

Hezbollah later took responsibility for the attack in a statement, saying it targeted an “Israeli” military position.
